The most important thing I want people to know is it’s not just about getting married it’s about STAYING married! At the end of the day when the dusts settles and all the sparkle clears away you want a love that stands the tests of time. Donnie & Kim celebrated their 25th Anniversary together by doing a vow renewal with their son and daughter as best man & maid of honor. They enlisted Latoya of Elle Kay Events to plan their renewal and she did a wonderful job of executing their vision. Be sure to watch the video at the end and hear what Donnie and Kim say about each other!
From the Planner:
“Kim and Donnie are the epitome of black love. The couple met in high school and have been connected ever since. To celebrate their 25 wedding anniversary they recommitted their love and wedding vows in front of more than 250 friends and family members. The couple’s first wedding was three hours late, so they wanted to ensure that they didn’t make their guest wait the second time around. Working with the couple was great. Kim knew exactly what she wanted: love, fun and a little bling. Donnie knew exactly what he wanted: for Kim to be happy. The couple kept some wedding traditions and added their own twist of fun. While the ceremony was traditional, with their son and daughter standing by their sides as best man and maid of honor, respectfully. The reception was a true example of their love for each other and their family. The couple didn’t toss the bouquet or garter but instead passed it to their son and daughter to signify the importance of marriage. Donnie and Kim didn’t have a traditional first dance instead they had a dance battle with their children, old school vs. new school. It was wonderful to work with a couple who are deeply in love and wanted to share their love with everyone. “
