Leon and Artisha had a lovely church wedding and reception amongst their family and friends. During the wedding planning process you tend to forgot those that have sacrificed for your big day. I really love that Artisha thanks her parents for making her wedding a reality. Many thanks to the team at Human Eye Photography for close ups of all the details and for sharing with us today!
From the Bride:
Proposal:Leon proposed in New Orleans. We went down for a 4 days, 3 nights trip. We ate, and danced. On our last night there we were by the ships and he proposed. Leon and I met at an Urban League “Get Out the Vote” Networking function. We both came by ourselves and both were the only 2 people wearing jeans. That’s what made us talk. Before getting married we were told to put God first and understand that men and women think completely differently if you expect the marriage to work.
Planning Process:The planning process for the the wedding was pretty intense. I started about 1 year out. God is so good, as you know we live in VA but the wedding was in SC. About 1 year prior to the wedding my job sent me on a conference in…Columbia, SC so I was able to meet with a bunch of vendors (decorator, photographer, my potential venue, and caterer). I was able to get contracts with my many vendors and had a year to pay them. I thank God for my parents, without them I would not have been able to have such a lovely wedding.
Reception Venue: Garners Ferry Adult Activity Center/ Dj: Da Fam Entertainment/ Bride’s Dress: David’s Bridal/ Make Up Artist: Eboney Looney/ Men’s Fashion: Men’s Warehouse/ Caterer: New Beginning Catering Services/ Transportation: Topp Limousine Service / Cake: Vintage Bakery, LLC
